EQUIPMENT DONATIONS
GEAR FOR GOOD
While monetary donations allow EDSAR to select and purchase the most effective tools, the fundraising process to secure the necessary funds can delay crucial life-saving acquisitions.
Your donation can make a life-saving difference. See our wish list and email contact@edsar.org to donate equipment like the ones described below.
We welcome donations of new or gently used search and rescue equipment in pristine condition from both retail establishments and private donors, such as:
Drones that are commercial-grade and designed for professional use
Swift Water Rescue Equipment like heavy-duty, high performance inflatable boats, powerful jet skis, and safety-certified immersion suits and helmets
Alpine Vehicle Rescue Equipment such as snowcats, snowmobiles, and utility task vehicles
While new items are ideal, gently used equipment in excellent condition like the following can help EDSAR Volunteers reduce their costs of buying personal equipment:
Garmin GPSMAP 6x series
FCC-compliant programmable two-way handheld and mobile radios
Our huge thank you to the following organizations for helping to reduce our expenses and operational costs through donations and discounts.
We are deeply grateful to the HALTER Project, a grassroots organization dedicated to animal safety and well-being during emergencies and disasters. Their generous equipment donations, notably the large animal lift, rescue glides, protective gear, slip sheets, and many other supplies to our team have been invaluable. Their sponsorship of numerous training events for EDSAR's Animal Technical Rescue Team and integrated training with local agencies, have significantly strengthened our emergency response capabilities throughout El Dorado and neighboring counties.
Our heartfelt thanks to Foothill Mobile Veterinary Service and Dr. David Turoff, DVM, for their generous donation of essential equipment for our Animal Technical Rescue Team, including a large animal lift, rescue glides, and a winch.
Special thanks to Western Digital, a leading manufacturer of data storage devices and solutions, for their generous donation of a cutting-edge drone with a 4K camera and microSD™ card, as well as $600 to fund four drone pilot licenses. Their support enable our Drone Team to locate subjects more efficiently and enhance our rescue efforts.
We thank Perseverance DX Group, an international group of amateur radio operators known for their ambitious and well-organized expeditions to remote and challenging areas. Their generous donation of shelters to store the rafts for our Swift Water Rescue Team, along with REI Wonderland Tents and Coleman cots, will greatly enhance our capacity to respond to extended missions and emergencies.
We appreciate Polaris Government & Defense, a global supplier of off-road vehicles and tactical equipment to government and military organizations, for the discounts on the vehicles used by our West Slope and South Lake Tahoe teams.
Our warm thanks to the Hangtown Kennel Club for their tremendous support of El Dorado Search and Rescue. Their generous contributions have directly benefited our Canine Team, providing them with funds to purchase essential gear, ensuring our dedicated canine handlers and their invaluable canine partners have the tools they need to perform their life-saving work.
We are extremely grateful to Marshall, an El Dorado County-based, independent, non-profit community healthcare system, for their invaluable support of EDSAR. Their STOP THE BLEED and Naloxone training, along with their generous donations of tourniquets and Naloxone, significantly enhance our ability to respond to extreme emergencies.
Our sincerest thanks to the generous donors who supported EDSAR's equipment needs, including:
